The Supreme Court (SC) recently cited Quezon City’s Presiding Judge of the regional trial court (RTC) Agustin Dizon and Presiding Judge of the Metropolitan Trial Court Ralph Lee as two of this year’s most outstanding judges of the Philippines.

Judge Dizon was awarded by Justice Ramon Avancena Award Judicial Excellence for his unassailable integrity, competence and dedication to duty.

Judge Lee was chosen by the Board of Judges of the SC as the 2004 most outstanding metropolitan trial court judge for instituting efficiency systems in the dispensation of justice in Quezon City as presiding judges of the MeTC.

The highest tribunal’s citation for judge Dizon caps a colorful career in the bench spanning 32 years during which he was accorded high honors by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) as outstanding municipal judge, as outstanding Capampangan in 2001 by the province of Pampanga, and outstanding judge by the Consumers Union of the Philippines (CUP) in 2002.

A native of Sorsogon, Judge Lee left a lucrative private practice to serve as public prosecutor for eight years before he was appointed judge in 1999. With his previous stint as an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Judge Lee brought to the judiciary his wealth of experience in all aspects of the justice system.

He initiated various reforms which cut down processes and declogged the dockets of the various MeTC branches of Quezon City.

Judge Lee conducted seminars and workshops with barangay officials and court employees to make them effective in the efficient dispensation of justice.

Mayor Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. congratulated Dizon and Lee for earning the most coveted recognition and honor from the SC.
